Hello, this is my first time building a gaming PC and I've been watching tons of videos and reading tutorials about this topic, but I still have a few questions, specifically regarding the ATX power supply and how to connect all my components to it. Let me start by listing the components that are giving me a headache:
Power supply: EVGA BQ 650
GPU: Zotac ZT-P10700G-10M
Mobo: ROG Strix B350-F Gaming
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Series
With that out of the way my questions are:
1- The motherboard has two ATX power connectors: the classic 24 pin connector (EATXPWR), and the 8 pin connector (EATX12V). The 24 pin is a no brainer, but I'm confused about the 8 pin connector; does this connector supplies energy to the AMD Ryzen alone? I'm confused because the notches don't match, BUT IT DOES CONNECT! What I mean is, that my power supply has two 4 pin connectors, each one have a small label that says CPU. Should I connect those in the EATX12V port? I'm not forcing anything, because the notched pins can easily connect into the square-shaped slots, but that makes me feel worried. Hopefully I'm being clear, but I'll post a picture later in case I need a better way to explain it.
2- This one is about the GPU. It came with a dual cable (one 8 pin end to two 6 pin end each one, I'm sorry if this cable has a name, but I'm ignorant and for some reason isn't even listed on my GPU box). I know those connectors are for my ATX PCI-E connectors, but should I connect both or just one?
That's it, pretty simple, right? I'm sorry if it's a noob question, but well, I think we all start knowing nothing. I hope you can help me guys, thanks in advance!
