Hello so i was playing on my computer smelt a burning smell and the next day took a look and the adapter between the psu and motherboard had actully burnt into my motherboard and now im left with burnt plastic inside my ATX _12v Slot at the top left on my motherboard ive tryd to scrape the plastic out and blow it out with a hair dryer with none of it comeing out my question is do i have any other options and is it possible to RMA my motherboard ive had it for like almost 2 years now and the mother board is a Gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2 thanks for the help

have you tried turning the pc on since this happened? i would wait until it is completely cool and if you are able to plug the connector in then you should be okay just run a stress test, but if its toasted then i unfortunately doubt that gigabyte will repair it for you, but you should still ask them.

Okay, have you registered your warranty to gigabyte, if yes then you should talk to their customer support, however dont expect them to fix it for you as it is not there fault that the motherboard doesn't work, (unless it says anti melted plastic in that case you should be good :))

What are the rest of the parts in this PC?
Specifically, the PSU.

I suspect either a crappy PSU, or the cable was not fully connected.
Either way, time for a new motherboard, and probably a new PSU.
