It's a pretty weird one and the first time I'd seen such a thing, but a friend called over claiming his pc makes noises and I open up youtube to find out the audio is coming out straight out of his motherboard, specifically around the cpu area (under the cooler, didn't lift it). Nothing was attached, and attaching speakers/earphones doesn't work.

What could cause this? Is this even a motherboard issue? It might help to note his pc is pretty old, still runs w7.
