Hi friends, i have has an audio problem for a while now. There were a lot of power outages in my area recently maybe that damaged my psu or motherboard. I have full spike protection on my motherboard at least in Asrocks website it says. When i talk to my friends or listen to music i hear static/sizzle/electric sound whatever its called sound on my headphone. When listening to music when i increase or decrease volume i hear that sound. It also happens on high bass or something idk. I recently changed my headphone and tested it so problem is not in my headphone. I've done everything. So at this point it's either my motherboard or PSU causing this issue. It's been 4.5 years since I bought psu. Sorry for my bad english. Thanks.

Things i tried;
1. Changed os from W11 to W10
2. Reinstalled Audio Drivers from scratch on both w11, w10.
3. Changed pcie 3 to 2.
4. Disabled HD Audio Controller on bios.
5. Updated Bios.
6. Updated Windows.
7. Tested Headphone in other pc, mobile no problems.
8. Changed psu power cable.

That hiss is kinda normal on low end boards at least for 3.5mm , have faced it on gigabyte and msi boards as well, you need mobo with shielded audio or better a get a dac, even chi fi would be much better ! on usb it seems like grounding issue , maybe try a grounded switch first before change your PSU

I'm on grounded switch. And B550M not a low end board. It is Mid-low.

I suspect that the power issued did something either to the power planes on the motherboard, the sound chip on the motherboard, or damaged one of the components near the sound chip which are part of the sound processing. The only way to mitigate this in the future is by having our PC connected to a UPS. Most likely, the Motherboard was damaged.

Yeah. Probably. Is there a way for me to check physically ? or some other way maybe? Because it doesn't do this when im gaming or speaking with my friends. and i don't have any problem with my mic either. Only watching youtube and listening music. Its like popping sound. Weird. Lets say my 3.5mm ports are faulty what about usb audio how is that affected ? it is totally weird. I'm also a tech guy but this is the first time im encountering this kind of problem.

I searched the entire forum and googling for like entire week and i read everything related to these kind of issues but none of the fixes worked for me.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, despite advances in technology, motherboard audio is still prone to these issues, and then there's the steaming pile of garbage that is *shudders* realtek audio drivers. It's time to invest in a desktop amp/dac, my guy... and if brown outs are prevalent in your area, I would strongly advise you obtain a UPS first. People still overlook this aspect, just as they ignore acquiring a good power supply after spending a decent amount acquiring expensive gear.

Also, make sure you completely remove that realtek crap from your system, or there will be conflicts.

Any of them will suffice, but if you can find an Objective2+ODAC, even that would be a better option.

Pro-tip: In the future, avoid "gaming headsets" because they're garbage for what you get (no offense). Instead, invest in some good, entry-level headphones that will not only last longer but also sound better. Sennheiser, AKG, and Beyerdynamic all provide a wide range of headphones at various price points. For the mic, get something like a blue yeti. You'll get more years of use out of a setup like that instead of replacing your headsets every 1-2 years when something inevitably fails, because it will.

Scour the used market!
