OK, I know this subject has been thrashed out but if someone could possibly
give some advice it would be very much appreciated.
Setup:
*Windows XP Pro, SP2 (Windows Messenger 4.7)
*ADSL connection via NetComm NB1300 ADSL Modem Router, connected via LAN
(router is connected to a LAN switch which networks the ADSL to 3
computers).
*ZoneAlarm Pro (Windows Firewall is disabled).
Messenger (and Yahoo Messenger) connects and I can type messages, but when
either party clicks "Start Talking" once the invitation is accepted it fails
to connect - after about a minute it tells you there was a problem
connecting to the other computer. ZA has been set to allow Messenger...
I presume this problem has something to do with the router rather than
zonealarm. I use another VoIP program (echolink) which works fine but I had
to set port forwarding on the modem and also in zonealarm - if this needs to
be done for messenger does anyone know what ports need to be set? Not
interested in video, just audio..
Thanks for your patience and assistance.
