Question Audio goes out until I restart

Hi here
I have a DisplayPort going to my monitor which is the default audio output and from my monitor to a speaker and I have a headset which I plug in the front headphone jack when I want to use it. everything works fine until I plug the headset in it still works but unpluging it results in no audio from my speakers until I restart my system so every time I plug my headset and then want to use my speakers I have to reset my pc.
this is really annoying so please help me resolve this issue.

This definitely sounds like a driver issue. You may try to install newest audio drivers.

I updated my video card driver which also has a an audio driver for the card but still the same issue now it seems very random I'll be using my pc with all sound and it is good and later without even pluging my headphones and removing them the audio won't be there.
should I update my Realtek drivers if so please give me some insight on how to do it

You should tell what grapic card model you have and also the monitor.

Anyway - remember to remove the previous driver completely (and any residual user settings too) before you install new driver.

I have a gtx 1070 and a sceptre monitor 1080p with vga hdmi and dp connections and it is connected to my card via dp
I did choose clean installation 9ption when updating my driver

Forgot to mention I recently switched to dp connection because I connected another monitor with hdmi but that one doesn't have speakers
