Hey! I recently built my new PC, and since day 1 I've been having strange audio distortion issues. It seems to only happen when I'm in a discord voice channel. If I launch a game while in a discord voice channel, my entire system audio is heavily distorted. Additionally, it only affects my usb audio mixamp, if I plug directly into the headphone jack I don't get the issue. I'm running windows 11. Sometimes the issue fixes itself after a few seconds, while others it requires I plug the audio device in and out multiple times.
I've tried checking my RAM for issues via the windows trouble shooter
I've reinstalled all audio drivers
I've tried multiple USB slots on my PC, front IO and back.
Plugging the usb device in and out fixes the issues most of the time but not always.
The mixamp worked perfectly on my old PC, and since it only happens due to very specific triggers on my PC itself (launching game in discord) I doubt the mixamp is the issue
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance

I have come up with a work around. I found an audio jack splitter that gives my headphone cord the extra length needed to make it work. I am passing my mic jack through the mixamp to increase voice quality, while bypassing the mixamp and using the headphone jack directly into my pc to avoid the distorted audio. It seems to be working
Does the device have a micro usb cable attachment/port?

The mixamp does on the back, it's micro USB to usb A for connecting to the PC. My headphones are just audio jack. I didnt use this method originally as it made my voice too quiet to be heard in game or in discord, however by connecting the mic to the mixamp and the headphone jack to the pc I avoid this issue. It will work for the time being, I'll probably end up buying a new more up to date DAC in the future.

Gotta plug that micro USB in for it to be detected by the installers I believe. Worth a shot with the firmware file again? I cant find anything older than that Model.

I'm going to use my work around now, I think it is a lost cause trying anything else to fix it, I probably just need to update to a newer DAC. Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it

Anytime! I believe you have an older model that isn't supported with firmware/updates, I would have known that had I placed more attention to the photo you sent of your amp and compared to the website. Might be a compatibility issues with Windows 11 or the way its configured. I would reach out to Astro Support and see if they have any advice.

Did the system come with Windows 11 fresh or did you upgrade from Windows 10?

The Astro team seems very responsive on their Reddit and I am sure they will get back to you quickly on their website.

Good Luck!
