I am trying to find a way that I can get game sound from the Wii U to my headset. Whilst Simultaneously having the same headset hooked up to my PC for skype (Mic to talk to friends and friends voices coming back to my headset)

Headset is Sennheiser pc360, it has two 3.5mm jacks on the end (green and pink)

On the back of the Wii U there is a HDMI port and USB ports. On the Wii U gamepad there is one 3.5mm port

My speakers have a built in DAC. It has three inputs (USB, 3.5mm single, white & red rca). It has one output (white & red rca). Not sure if I can use this as part of the solution?

Does anyone know a way I can get this to work? I don't mind spending money

Thanks

I think this could just be possible.

Have you ever heard of a splitter? where it connects to a audio device and splits the signal in two so two people can hear, though only through one ear each. What im thinking is if there is a reverse splitter and two cables that would be all you need.

So the mic jack on the headset will be connected to you computer. You will have the headphone jack connected to the reverse splitter which will have one cable connected to it connecting to the wii gamepad and the other cable from the reverse splitter to the computer.

I know, it sounds really confusing, hope this helps though.

Thank you for your reply. I was thinking of this as an idea until I read the following 🙁

'Under no circumstances what so ever use a "splitter" in reverse to combine two audio outputs into one. Doing so will at the very least knacker the sound quality and could knacker the sound cards.
You should only ever use a splitter as a splitter. ie to feed one device output to two other device inputs.'

Maybe I need some sort of DAC or Amp, does anyone have experience with this issue?

Thanks

this is another solution, when I have gamed on my wii u, it was easiest to use my phone with skype or mumble and have a pair of iem's connected to that. Then I would wear my sennheisers over the iem's hooked up to the wii u port. I know it's not the solution you probably want but it works. good luck!

If anyone is wondering. I came up with a solution which should in theory work.

I am going to run HDMI for video to monitor. And the wii AV cables for audio out (you have to select this option in the wii's menu) which gives you red and white rca for the wii's audio.

I'm buying this Stereo audio mixer: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stereo-Audio-Mini-Mixer-Microphone-Mixer-2-Stereo-RCA-L-R-Inputs-1-Mic-Input-/190600589633?pt=US_Live_Studio_Mixers&hash=item2c60ae3141

Feed the Wii U audio and the PC audio into the mixer, and have my headphones 3.5mm green jack as the output and then I will hear both devices in the headphones.

For the microphone, just plug the 3.5mm pink cable straight into the PC.

I have had to order various cables such as 3.5mm to rca, just so all the cables work out right

Hope that helps someone out there

Figured out an even better solution if anyone is wondering. Either:

1. Plug a 3.5mm to 3.5mm in the top of the Gamepad, and then into the line-in (blue) on your PC. Then on your PC (windows 7) go to recording devices > properties on the line-in > listen tab > and check the box next to listen to this device. The Wii U sound then plays through whatever speakers or headset you have hooked up.

or

2. Output the audio from your Wii U with the Wii AV cables which ends in red & white rca. (You need to set this in the Wii settings also). Then convert the red & white rca cables to 3.5mm male and plug it in the line-in on the back of your PC and do the same windows settings as above.
