Audio static/ crackles

I have correctly assembled my pc with all the parts purchased however, when I turn up the sound I get crackles and static aswell as the audio. I have tried plugging in my speakers into the front headphone jack but it's the same deal lots of crackling and static. I also tried pluging my headphones into both front headphone jack and the back sound ports however it's the same deal (lots of static and crackling). I'm thinking that it may be caused by the onboard audio on the motherboard being faulty

Yeah, it shouldn't be doing that, it could be a fault with the onboard audio.
