Question Audio

Was just using my computer I've had built for a few years now, and a slight static hiss started in my right ear. It got worse over 10 - 15 seconds and then went quiet. The left ear did the same thing right after, now I have no audio. I had the headset plugged into the front case port so I tried switching it to the rear motherboard port and got nothing. The headset works on my phone. After restarting the computer I get audio back for a few seconds then it develops the static and goes out again. Right now the only thing I can think of is that some internal wiring or chip on my motherboard has to have gone bad for all my audio ports to stop working. I cleaned the ports and didn't get much debris or dust out of them. As well as unplugged and plugged in the wire from the case ports to the motherboard.

Apologies for the vague question format I'm a bit frazzled right now lol.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600x
CPU Cooler: stock cooler shipped with CPU
Mobo: MSI x370 gaming plus
RAM: 2x8GB 3200mhz Corsair vengeance
Storage: 128gb SSD for OS and 1tb HDD
GPU: EVGA GTX970
PSU: CX750M (easily 4 years old)
Case: Corsair carbide? 7 years old
OS: windows 10
Monitor: Acer k222hql

Bios version : American megatrends 5.20 4.28.2017

I tried a Sennheiser game one headset I've been using for years, works on my phone. And a set of Logitech speakers I've had in my closet. Both devices were hooked up via the case jacks up front and the Mobo jacks in the back.
