Audo card/mobo problem

Ok
the front audio jack is damage headphone cord pulled out by mistake runing the jack
also bought sound card creative sound blaster audigy fx
someone tried to recently use the front jack unknowing it was broke
audio has been turning off / sounding echoed
took card out sound works from asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 mobo
then sound disappears again
heard the front audio jack might be broke in away it thinks something is plugged
i want to remove the audio in the system panel connector the manual does not say which 1 is audio
can someone let me know so i can try remove it
or if this is a stupid idea and im missing something obvious
please help pc is practically useless to me without audio
