This I suppose is more related to DRM in consumer electronics.
I have a satellite TV box (typically called as STB in my country). It has recording feature on external USB pen drive. The process is simple, hit that Record button on remote and the live program is also recorded on the pen drive storage connected to the STB. It has USB 2.0 port. The thing is when I play it back (of course on the same STB) a few files end up with authentication fail message on screen and are automatically removed.
I am clueless why it’s happening. The service provider does not have any idea. They simply import the box in my region. My suspicion in on DRM issue of some sort. Something is going wrong in the decryption of the stream??
Does anyone know why it occurs? I tried another pen drive but still it occurs randomly sometime.
