Auto Sync Launcher dialog box appears when the computer boots up. I heard that re-installing service pack 1 should fix the problem, however, I tried this and it still appears. What should I do next to solve this problem? I even tried system restore but that was ineffective.

Can anybody give some good advice - much appreciated!! This could be a stubborn malware on my computer. Anti-virus does not detect any problems.

Thanks!

The Auto Sync Launcher is not malware. It belongs to a third-party backup application called Memeo Auto Backup, and is often supplied with some external hard drives but is also available from the developer's website.
It is not part of Windows 7.

If you don't use it, uninstall the Memeo Auto Backup application and that should also get rid of the dialog box that appears when Windows starts.

Phil22,

Thank you for the reply. You are right, I have a Seagate 500GB GoFlex external drive. Memeo Auto Backup was installed upon mounting the drive. Since I now do not need the software, I will uninstall and this should fix the problem at bootup.

Thanks again for the post.
