Aux cable with PC issues

Hello all! I'm having a strange issue when trying to use a physical audio cable with my custom PC.

What I attempting to do is have a aux cable run from my phone to my Razer Keyboard's mic jack input. However, when I do this all the thing does is crackle and screech.

Now, it's not the keyboard or the jack, as when I plug my Razer kraken headphones into the same jack the sound quality is perfect.

My reason for doing this is so that I can play music over Teamspeak, or in game with Push to Talk.

I've tried multiple audio cables and they are all great quality, I've also tried just plugging the cable into the IO port on back of my case, but to no avail.

I just don't understand why my headset works fine but when I replace it with an audio cable it crackles and cannot hear anything.

Basically.

If you look at the jack on the aux cable you bought.

You will see on the jack tip it`s self there are two rings on the jack.
That type of jack can only be used with a jack port that will accept that wiring configuration.

If you look at a pair, or a set of in ear headphones for your phone, or a a set of in ear phones that you get with your phone that also has a built in mic so you can answer incoming calls on your phone.

You will see that instead of two rings normally black in colour on the jack that for the phone there are in fact three black rings on the jack point.

This is why phones connected to a pc do not work.

Also the the phone is pre amplifying sound.

And that does not work also when you connect it to the Mic...

And that does not work also when you connect it to the Mic port of your Pc.

Because a Microphone is not pre amplified, it is amplified as a source input by the sound card of your system.

A pre amplified source connected to a Mic input of a pc will be distorted.

If you want to connect sound from a phone via a aux cable, turn the sound level down the phone is outputting.
And connect it to the line in socket of your sound card.

The line in can handle pre amp sources, provided the volume of the device outputting sound output, volume of the source sound is not to high or again it will distort.
