AUX temperature too high?

I don't even know what the AUX or AUX Fan is, so not sure where to post this question.

Here's my stats:

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
ASRock 870 Extreme3
nVidia GTX 470
Windows 7 Pro x64

In "SpeedFan", my "AUX" temp is at 90 - 95c - which equates to around 200 F?

There's a fire icon by it, so I assume this means it's too hot. I'm not sure what to think/do about this.

On the other side it says AUX Fan and AUX FAN 1 are spinning at 0 RPM. The only fans it does show are spinning are "FAN 3" and "CPU FAN" so not sure if it's really not spinning, or speed fan just isn't picking it up.

Any ideas?

Try checking the temps with PC wizard, or Speccy....
The fire Icon will show up if it is higher then the normal tmeps of the creator of the program...
Sounds like a faulty sensor..... PCs shutdown at that high of a tempature...

I instlaled PC Wizard and it confirms the temperature. "AUXTIN: 94C"

What is the AUX?

Which part of PC wizard are you getting it from? try opening it, Hardware>tempature.... see the temps on there.

From what I can tell AUX fan is an auxillary, or a case fan. Do you have an after market cooler on your CPU, if so, which one...? and does it have 2 fans?

I have a Rosewill Challenger that came with 3 case fans I believe.

No after market cooler.

Where exactly is the "AUX?" because if there's an "AUX fan" for the "AUX"...

I have absolutely no clue... try unplugging one fan at a time, and checking the fan speeds.
Also, open your case and look and see which are running.... see if one is dead.

Okay, I looked -every fan is running.

All 3 case fans, the cpu fan, the gpu fan.

The fan in the psu seems to not be as strong as the other fans, but it's running. I actually had it on carpet and now it's propped up for better airflow, but there was no change in temps after doing that really.

I think AUX means Power aux.... I'm going to repost in that section to see if anyone has any ideas...

ok, glad I could help a bit.... did you try uplugging them to see which fan is which?

My AUX temp shows 122/C and 250/F. I think that metal starts melting at 250 degrees F. This is shown in both Fanspeed and HWMonitor. Everything is cool to the touch including the power supply. All fans are rotating. The Radeon HD 4870 graphics cards run a little hot but that is normal even though I have increased their fan speeds. I think the previous guy nailed with faulty temp sensor. Either that or these programs don't know how to measure the auxillary temp.

lol you have defective sensor...... over 80 should be considered faulty, unless you do an aggressive OC.... either live with the sensor, or try and get a replacement. I live with my defective sensor.
