Hey, I just upgraded my receiver from an Onkyo tx-nr509 to an Onkyo TX-RZ820.

My PC is connected to 3 displays, 2 acer monitors & my TV (via receiver). The displays on Windows 7 used to detect my 2 acer monitors & my TV as displays with my previous receiver. So when I closed my TV, it would revert to a 2 display setup automatically.

However, with my new receiver, Windows detects my receiver as the 3rd display instead of my TV. So if I close my TV, windows is still using a 3 display setup.

Is there a way to make Windows detect my TV as a display again instead of my new receiver?

Thanks

Yeah, phantom monitor, it's talked about a lot. think you're stuck with it, unless theres a setting in the avr you can change. How your other avr managed it i have no idea, can only guess it handled hdmi edid differently.

An alternative might be to control your display setup from the computer instead by switching multi display modes quickly.
