Hey guys, I need help with an idea of what a PC will weigh for shipping costs. Nevermind the actual components, I have listed some to give you an idea of estimated components for reference.

Processor
ATX motherboard
Corsair 500 Watt PSU
Wireless card
Multi-card reader
Mid-tower Case (Steel/plastic construction)
HDD
DVD/CD Drive
Small graphics card

Thoughts on how much it would weigh in lbs? Or previous experience shipping a PC?

Solution
How much you get charged for shipping is usually a weighted average. I know UPS and FedEx both charge by the pound, but it also depends on where you're shipping from to where. I know my Corsair 500R with all components installed (drives, motherboard, PSU, GPU) weighs about 60 pounds, while my home rig's 600T weighs about 70 pounds. The weight can vary greatly from case to case though.

Did you have many components in it? I.e. large graphics cards, etc. Was there a really big power supply?

Once you could determine the quality of a psu by how heavy it was.
In this case, it was a 500w pc p&c silencer500 which is probably heavier than most.
The graphics card was modest, and there was only a ssd.
It is my sense that as the weight goes up, it does not increase the charge proportionally.
