Based on Cleeve's response below I need to correct and clarify the post about the decoder. I was referring to the "Pure Video Decoder" software from nvidia that plugs into WMP.

I think (but am not sure) it used to be that you HAD to get this decoder to access any of the hardware accelleration features. That is the way I understood it. nvidia has made Pure Video and Pure Video Decoder terminoology confusing now. Anyway the Bonze version is often packaged with the card, and available for DL from a few sites. I guess that one is supposedly to cover MPEG rights (my bad). I thought it also included the Dolby Digital extraction (sent to the sound card), but not Dolby Head phones.
Its nice to see nvidia made the features available without the decoder.
Maybe in reality the "Decoder" was just a plugin for Windows all the while.
