@Baov, nice article on the intel drives. Even the mighty intel is not immune to the problems with SSDS, it appears. Other SSDs lose performance over time when free space gets fragmented at the NTFS level, causing more random writes than sequential writes; and a free space consolidation with Hyperfast fixes things. Don't know if the Intels suffer from a different problem,...but that seems to be the case.

if you are stil planning on buying 2 raptors and a tb drive, then ssd's are not overhyped, but underhyped.

when you finally realize you need to buy an ssd, then they will be hyped just right.

when you keep hearing about it, long after you already bought one...then, and only then, they are overhyped.

geez, there is zero reason to buy a raptor right now. You just don't understand how fast these things are :) when you do, you'll admit you were wrong
