Awful screen tearing

Hi guys.

Recently I moved in to my new home and after I installed my PC, it started to show awful screen tearing.
Some games show little tearing (Dark Souls 3), and some show a lot (MGSV). Mafia 2 showed tearing only in cutscenes.

My Rig:
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
8gb RAM DDR2 800mhz
MoBo ASUS P5K SE
GPU GeForce® GTX 950 OC ZT-90602-10M (less than a year old)
PSU Seasonic S12II 620w (less than a year old too)
CPU Core 2 Quad Q6600 Overclocked to 3.0ghz
CPU Cooler CM Hyper TX3 EVO
Monitor Acer V246HL 1920x1080 (connected via HDMI cable)

PS. 1: My whole setup is next to a refrigerator, like half a meter.
PS. 2: Already tried another monitor, the issues persists nonethless.
PS. 3: Resolution and refresh rate are set to it's native config (1920x1080 60hz)

why do you mention the refrigerator?

did you changed refresh rate on the monitor or the games?

1) Yes.
2) Don't know. Thought it might cause some interference.
3) No.

over hdmi, no, the signal is digital, that could happen on dvi or vga, not hdmi

try changing the refresh rate on the games and disable vsync to see if that affects or not, could be just a driver issue

Tried that already. Did a clean install of drivers, that didn't help either.
My GPU: ZOTAC GTX 950 OC ZT-90602-10M (less than a year old)

Your CPU might be too old bro! I just got into PC gaming earlier this year and got a cheap rig off of offer up!

AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core Black Edition
4GB ram DDR2
GTX 260

This guy had a good rig in 2008 lol. But its a bit outdated. I upgraded GPU and RAM. So now im at:

GTX 950 SC
6GB RAM

I was playing overwatch on my bootcamped imac before i got this PC, and it was quite impressive in quality!

Intel core i5-3330S 2.7GHz
8GB RAM
GT 640M

And on the bootcamped imac i was able to hold a constant fps of 115-135 without ANY screen tearing and all my setting on low! BUT NOW, even with a GTX 950 SC and 6GB of ram im seeing screen tearing!

I forgot to mention my monitor is an Acer H236HL 1920x1080 60Hz monitor. But im getting that tearing which i wasnt getting on my iMac!

The iMac native resolution was 1920x1080 60Hz as well!

So after extensive research i've come to the fonclusion that my CPU which is almoat 10 years old is way out dated! There are a lot or sites that allow you to compare components, such as userbenchmark, game-debate, and gpu boss.

I found out my CPU was extremely slow and could not handle what todays 3d games require! I suggest looking up the beat CPU for your mobo. Try to get the CPU that came out last that will fit your mobo. My mobo is an AM2/AM2+ so i can get the AMD Phenom II X6 series, which all came out in 2010/2011 and are really good for todays games requirements!

I just compared my AMD phenom 9950 to your CPU and theyre about the same... :/

So if you have a new monitor, like myself, Im thinking the CPU MIGHT have something to do with it... Like i mentioned before I have an Acer H236HL which came out not to long ago and a GTX 950 sc, and i get a lot of tearing with my current CPU

I know I have an ancient CPU, upgrades are being planned.
As for the tearing, I removed the GPU, blown up the dust, and now it's gone. Didn't have any tearing ever since.

My screen tearing stopped once i increased my monitors refresh rate to 75Hz and did a little tweaking in my NVIDIA control panel.
