Awk.exe malware and CPU temps.

I have a AMD A8-3870K and was using Kaspersky pure 3.0, my load temps were in the low 50s in Celsius and my fan control was not working. My pc began doing strange things such as lock ups, and stated above, higher cpu temps. I decided to install webroot and it removed awk.exe which was categorized under malware. Sure enough, My fan control started working again and I ran prime95 for 4 1/2 hours and my highest CPU temp was 43*C. Way better. Does anyone know what awk.exe is and what it does?

I don't use Google, I called Web root support and they said it was a known virus? Possibly it disguised itself???

Well I don't use Chrome or as my Web browser, only to sign into this site.

Of course, I'm not an idiot. I just wanted to know why awk.exe was swsetup in the drivers folder.

so you want us to google this for you?I'm sorry i don't want to earn Best solution from using Google to find an easy answer..Chances are no-one will know Small things such as what is a virus/malware since theres new virus/malware every Second.


Google has every answer in the universe and if google doesn't then go find another universe 😛

Oh ok, hahahahaha, I looked at the messages real quick on my phone earlier and I thought you guys meant awk.exe was google!!! Sorry! )
