Hi guys,

for a SLI 980Ti OC'd, and i5 4670k (4.4ghz), build, which would be best? RM1000X vs AX860?

My AX850 is faulty I believe so Corsair will replace it for me. Should I sell the replacement (AX860) and get a RM1000X for my new build?

I am in the UK and the RM1000X is about £140.

Yes it is, however it calculates max wattage on full load of all your components including fans rpm..

2x980ti = 500watts
OCed 4670K = 160watts

That's only those 2 parts on max load. 1200watts is a safe way to go that will leave you some room. Do you use your pc 8hours per day?

PSU calculator however vastly overestimate your usage, becuase there's no way you'd use all of your components at 100%load so I'd say 1200 - 200 = 1000watts so you will be good with 1000watts
