Question B450 DS3H ethernet issue

Hi!
I recently bought a B450 DS3H motherboard , but when i tried to connect to the wifi using ethernet it didn't work. Also for some reason it doesn't come up in device manager

Things i've done: Downloaded a driver from realtek (i got a error message) and installed a new chipset driver.

I hope some you can help

WiFi is connected to via a wireless access point. Ethernet is connected to via a cable. Are you wanting to connect to your network via a cable or wireless?

That motherboard does not have WIFI built-in. Did you add a WIFI card?

OK, there should be another section in that output that shows the ethernet adapter. So windows doesn't think you have an ethernet adapter. But you said you had no unknown device and no exclamation points in device manager. Do you have have any listed "network adapters" ? My guess is no.

Did you start with a new Windows install or are you trying to reuse a previous Windows install ?

I haven't started a new download. Should i?

I started with a new one but haven't installed on since

If you are trying to use the PC with an old Windows install, that is you first problem. You need to start with a fresh Windows install.

If you started with a brand new Windows install and installed the drivers that came with the motherboard, then I don't have an explanation. Maybe somebody else will have something.

Do you think a USB to Ethernet adapter will fix it @kanewolf
