Hi all, I currently have the
ASRock B450 Steel Legend AMD Motherboard

I'm running windows 10 64 pro and Ryzen 7 2700x

I would like to know what is the latest Bios that i should have installed? I checked the website but its a long list to choose from.

Any help would be great

Thanks

Solution
I Would NOT install any BIOS newer than 2.63B with a 2700x (Pinnacle Ridge CPU).
Newer versions Might work But even if they do, they are optimized for Ryzen 3000 (Matisse) CPU's so will Not work as well with a Pinnacle Ridge CPU.

What BIOS are you currently using ?
It is very rare that a BIOS version coded and developed for a particular processor inclusive fails these days. If it does, Ver 3.50 does have the option to roll back to earlier BIOS.
Usually they have version numbers and/or dates on each BIOS file. It should be fairly obvious which is the latest. If you are not sure which is the best, you can just google "mobo name version number bios" and see if there are any info about it (there almost always are).
But my opinion is that if you don't have a problem, its better to leave the BIOS alone.

Thanks for the reply

Version 3.50 is the latest bios but I'm not sure about this..

if Pinnacle, Raven or Summit Ridge CPU is being used on your system. Do not use or install

Does this apply to me or can I install this bios?

Okay, I presumed because it was an earlier version that I shouldn't install it. Thanks

Last question, should I install the bios versions in order? Until I get to version 3.50, missing the pinnacle bios updates.

Thanks

I didn't say it would Fail BUT the newer AGESA in newer BIOS versions do NOT work as well on Ryzen 2000 CPUs.
My 2600 on an Asus B450-F works best with BIOS version 1201 (with AGESA 1.0.0.6).
I updated the BIOS to Version 2704 (AGESA Combo PI 1.0.0.3 Patch ABB ) and then to 3003 (AGESA Combo PI 1.0.0.4 patch B) which are optimized for Ryzen 3000 CPUs and it OC'd lower and my RAM could no longer be OC'd past 3200. With BIOS 1201 it OC's higher and my RAM runs at 3400.

And Asrock clearly does NOT recommend using the newer BIOS versions with a 2000 Series Pinnacle Ridge CPU for that very reason.
Just because you can update a BIOS doesn't always mean you should.

Yeah, I did read about it in the forums, but AMD took care of that in subsequent updates AFAIK. And people have successfully upgraded BIOS since then. There will always be outliers ofcourse, but the scenario is not as grim as you think.
Recently i helped one of my colleague to upgrade to AGESA ComboAm4PI 1.0.0.6 on the Tomahawk and it did go along pretty fine.
