Question B550 UD AC-Y1 BIOS Update.

My motherboard model is a B550 UD AC-Y1 and I want to update the BIOS but the manufacturer website (Gigabyte) only has BIOS updates for the "normal" B550 UD AC model so I'm wondering if that model's BIOS is compatible with my motherboard? I can't seem to find a solid answer anywhere regarding this and I know downloading the wrong BIOS could brick my PC.

What BIOS version are you currently for your motherboard? You can use CPU-Z to tell you what BIOS version you're on, under Mainboard tab. Also, can you look at the bottom left hand corner of your motherboard to see what the PCB revision number is?

If the board is from a prebuilt, like Cyberpower, then you will need to contact them for the BIOS version as Gigabyte is their OEM board maker/provider.

Out of curiosity, why are you in need of updating the BIOS for your motherboard?

Is that motherboard retail, or OEM (pre-built)? If it is an OEM board, you will need to go to the system manufacturer's website and hope they keep an updated BIOS there.
