[SOLVED] B550M Plus and Ryzen 7 3800x no boot

I just bought a Ryzen 7 3800X and a B550M Plus for my first build. I get a solid red light for the CPU when I attempt to boot. Fans spin, lights turn on, but no post.

I have tried it with and without a GPU, with 1 memory stick and 2, and on a friend's Aorus B55M Pro-P because I thought it could be the MBU (didn't resolve the issue)

I'm pretty sure I have a dead CPU, but I'm looking for other ideas.

Solution
The CPU pins look fine. I was hoping maybe the was some conflict between the BIOS version for Ryzen 5000. Maybe a BIOS flash would fix it, but I haven't seen anything about backwards compatibility being an issue.

B550 boards support Zen 2 and Zen 3 CPU so you should be fine and B550 boards does have the BIOS to support Zen 2 out of the box. Just need a BIOS update for Ryzen 5000.

If you tried that CPU on 2 B550 board and it doesn't work and gave you the CPU LED there is a good chance it's a DOA CPU.
