I want to backup my ever growing photos off my iPad/iPhone onto an external drive.(200GB)
Speed to backup as well as ease, reliability and the ability to access and file them logically are important.
Am I better with an external hard drive or a flash drive?
Any tips or advice appreciated.

Connect the phone to your PC or laptop, so that is seen as a USB device.
Copy the relevant files or folder.

Makes no real difference if going to an external or flash drive.

so basically my laptop would be an intermediatery with the photos passing through onto the external drive that is also connected to the laptop?
It’s not possible or advisable to connect an external hard drive straight to my phone?

Or just directly to a folder in the laptop.
And then, to wherever you desire.

External drive, cloud somewhere, whatever.


Thats what I do with my cameras and phones.
