G'day guys,

I just wanted to know as I'm backing up files using the "backup and restore" thing from the control panel do I still need the windows image backup file that's taking up a lot of space in my C drive.

Cheers,

Solution

Windows image backup contains all contents of your windows boot drive. It may become handy if your boot drive dies or gets screwed irreparably by some cryptovirus or some software update.
"backup and restore" thing - will not restore your windows.

why create a backup in C?
why not other drives?
Furthermore, if the image is easily boot-able and restore-able there should be no issues. I mean if you need specific software to run and restore, then its kinda useless.

Cool, I just wanted to know if it was necessary to keep in the E drive.
