Bad CPU causing stuttering?

Hey guys. So for a while now my graphics driver has been crashing. I tried everything and have narrowed it down to being my PSU. I've ordered an EVGA 750w 80+ gold. When playing battlefield 1, it is stuttering, feels like I have low FPS but EVGA precision shows I'm holding 90fps. I turned down the resolution scale to 70% and it's pretty smooth now. Could my GPU not getting the correct power be the cause of this? Basic specs of my PC: i5 4670k @ 3.4Ghz. Gigabyte Z97P-D3. EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclocked 4GB. Kingston HyperX 16GB (2x 8GB). Thanks.

At first I thought that, but a few of my friends have lower end systems than mine and are still getting better performance. I don't recall this issue with BF4, however I do remember that my driver continuously crashed, mostly when there were explosions or huge gun fights.

I don't wanna mess around with OC'ing as I don't know much about it lol.

You paid more for a K processor because of the ability to raise the multiplier past the stock 34.
Overclocking is a misnomer, Intel developed the K specifically to allow raising the multiplier.
They just can not guarantee any level of OC because of the variability of the chip quality.
You are likely to be good for 40-42.
Keep all voltages on Auto and just gradually increase the multiplier in the bios.
Stress test with OCCT or similar. Not prime95 or IBT.
Occt will shut down the test at 85c if necessary.

Ah I never thought of that wildcard! I'll give it a try soon. And I built this PC a few years ago when I knew nothing about PC gaming. They were all just recommended parts. When you say 40-42, what exactly do you mean geofelt? Once I get my new PSU tomorrow I will see how it goes and possibly attempt to increase the multiplier. Thanks for the replies guys.
