Yes, tell me your woes! Who here has been ripped off lately by an online PC hardware vendor? What happened, and how was it resolved, or was it? Let's hear about the places we don't want to visit at night...or day.

And don't forget to put your experiences in an online rater. I suggest http://resellerratings.com and if you have odd problems with the site keeping you logged in, use this address, as I have had odd problems on several PC's when I use www.resellerratings.com

While wearing syran-wrap speedos, my shrink had the nerve to tell me "I can cleary see yer nuts!"

and

ComputerGeeks, and Accubyte, and Micro-Pro, and United Micro. Just to name a few...though, I'd have to say that CNETPC takes the cake in the worst of the worst.

In the UK, the evil shop is PCWorld. It is the AOL of PC shops but, there are a *********LOT********** of horror stories about faulty goods.

hehe PCWorld even got done for false advertising when they said that a PC they were advertising running on a 2GHz Willamette would mean "Faster Internet".

"Where in the world...PCWorld!!" No Thanks!!

I find it hard to believe there's only two out there...

I'd like to add Computer Geeks for having taken over two months now, and still no refund as promised...and nothing but headaches when communicating with them.

Oh! DELL -- without a question --

I bought a Dell based on reputation. I received something totally different.
Dell sold me a refurbished computer under the disguise of a new computer. Now I notice in their warranty that ALL computers Dell sells have either "new or equivalent to new" parts & components. Can this be right?

i had a pretty bad exp with a computer show vendor, Future3000 in brooklyn, they were at a show in NJ. problem goes like this
Was upgrading a system for my cousin that was running fine but a year old - 2 7200rpm hard drives, cd/rw and DVD, firewire card, NIC, AGP card.

She bought a mobo cpu bundle advertisement was like this --- BOX!! AMD XP1800+ ECS K7S5A $ dont rememebr the price but i told her it was a good price if she wanted to buy it. The following day i got a call to come help with some problems. it wouldnt post reliably with the firewire or nic cards and it wouldnt detect all 4 drives connected..even used a new enermax PSU bla bla -

Anyway long story short i drove to brooklyn to exchange the mainboard and they were less than helpful wanted to charge me 50 dollars and keep the board overnight to test it. I cant rma to ecs because i didnt buy direct from them.. $hitty policy.

So we had to go as far as the credit card company to get money back, but i still have the chip =) they can pay the shipping if they want it back.. did i mention it was an OEM chip and cooler when advertised retail?
