So I have a i5 4690k and a gtx 1060, and my fps is fine when im not in gunfights, but as soon as bullets and lots of smokes/molotovs my fps drops below 144, which dosent seem bad but i have a 144hz monitor and it really messes my aim up. Does anybody know how to fix this?

FYI CS:GO is very CPU dependent and will improve in performance with a CPU overclock. Are you running stock 3.5GHz speed on that 4690k? Getting it up to say 4.5GHz with a good cooling solution will show improvements in FPS drop areas of the game. However, like everything else in the PC world, a boost of your GPU overclock can help too in combination with the CPU overclock.

Also here's a good Steam guide to ensuring you are getting as good a performance for your system as you can for CS:GO -

Are you sure overclocking is the answer? I thought i should be getting over 200 fps at all times with these specs :(.

There is an option in settings called 'laptop power savings' sometimes it is turned on by default.
