Bad Performance On HDD (Should I buy a new SSD?)

So I bought this gaming PC around a year ago, with a 224GB SSD (Where windows is located) and a 2TB HDD for the games.
Everything went fine at first, but when I installed GTA on the hard disk, I got around 15 fps, so I tried moving it to the SSD and all of a sudden I get 60 FPS consistently.
But now, my SSD barely has any space left, and therefore runs very slowly. I was thinking of buying a new 500GB SSD and store all my games in there (Should be faster, right?) which will replace my hard disk (which is very slow). Is it worth it?

I got 16GB of ram
GTX 1060
intel core i5-7500
and I don't think anything else is relevant.

Thanks in advanced

skythz, if you are concerned with speed and storage, then you could be interested in a Hybrid FireCuda drive. The drive combines the latest NAND flash technology with a traditional hard drive for a compact blend of capacity and speeds up to 5× faster than typical hard drives, all backed by a 5-year warranty.

No matter what you choose, we thank you for considering Seagate.

So does it actually change the gameplay (FPS) dramatically? Or should I upgrade my CPU to i7-7700 instead?

It doesn't really change the gameplay much...but loading times are much faster.

I don't think the i7-7700 (at the moment) is going to get you anything over the i5 for gaming....in that....I bet the i5 isn't maxed out now.

From what I see you have a great 1080P rig as it is.

Do you have any clue why I literally only got 15 fps on GTA when it was on the hard disk? Was it really that or was it just a bug that got fixed after I moved it to another storage unit (the SSD)? I did restart my PC.

I've never had a hard disk slow my gaming....and I used to use HDDs.

Usually games don't access the disk much when they're running....so I would be surprised if the disk was the reason you were getting 15 fps.

Although I could be wrong, and perhaps GTA accesses the drive a lot during the game...but as I said....I find that a little odd.

Or...of course it could have been something else altogether....especially since you did a restart.
