Bad performance with GTX 650 Ti???

Hi!

I've recently purchased an ASUS GTX 650 Ti (link here) . It is installed correctly and all drivers are up to date.

For some unknown (to me!) reason the performance is hardly any better than my old card (an 8600 GTS). The 650 has all the better figures on paper, so why isn't this true in reality? (£119 later!!!!)

PC Specs:

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
Intel Xenon Quad-core @ 3.60 Ghz.
HP 08B8h motherboard with 4GB DDR2 (eww, I know) RAM. DRAM frequency = 200 Mhz.
ASUS NVIDIA GTX 650 Ti 1GB (factory settings).
500GB Hard drive @ 3.0GB/s SATA-II

Newer video card will take a performance hit when running on older motherboard chip sets. I have a PCI express 2.0 card running on my old PCI express 1.0 system and I take a hit in performance . Time for a new system man.

what processor is it/socket?......... what is the ram ( specifically )... need to know why it's running at 200..........

The card i dont know to much about but your pc needs updating..The ram is holding you back for sure..People buy higher end cards with lower pc specs and they both need to semi be on par for everything to run smoother..Its like me putting a gtx 460 in a dual core rig with 2-4gb of ddr2 ram....Its not going to work well

you might have a bottleneck somewhere. Check the gpu useage and vram useage with MSI afterburner. If vram useage is near the 1gb limit, then your running out of vram. If gpu useage is low then you have a cpu bottleneck. Also if you drop your resolution right down to like 800x600 and dont see much performance increase, then its most likely cpu bottlenecked. Also, try uninstall the nvidia drivers with driversweeper in safe mode, then reinstall the latest ones from nvidia website. That can solve some issues.
