Bad RAM slots (?)

Hello everyone!

I've 2 ram sticks (4GB each) and have a problem with my RAM slots (I think): if I put the sticks in the blue ones, the PC boots correctly, but if I use the black ones the PC keeps rebooting.

I specify that the RAM sticks were for a long time in the black slots, but only some weeks ago they stopped working.

I leave you a picture of my RAM slots (currently I'm using the blue ones):

What could be the problem?

Also, I know that the RAM works better in dual channel. Is there any difference between putting both sticks in the blue slots and putting them in the black slots to enable this feature?

Thanks for your attention.

Solution
Sounds like one of the RAM slots has indeed gone bad. Using the RAM in either black or blue slots shouldn't affect anything, they will run in dual channel in both.

Thank you. What should I do to solve this problem? Is it possible to substitute the bad slots? Or do I have to change my motherboard?

Sure, but if I wanted to add extra RAM sticks in the future?
