Bad SATA power cable?

Hi

i recently purchased a very nice (in my own mind) SATA power cable, from one SATA power to 5x SATA power.

I use it to connect four HDD that i had previosly connected with different cables. I noticed that the HDD seem unusually hot. Is it possible that the new cable is causing this?

I doubt it. It is probably because you now have 4 hard drives packed together.

The hdd cable wont be causing heat. Did you move the placement of the hdd. That could cause it.

the HDD are stacked exactly as before, they did not seem to run this hot before.

What is the tempature of the hdd.?

between 46-49°C, and was going up.
I was able to temporarily remedy the problem by hatching on an old cpu fan i had lying around, but i have never had to do this before.

Temps look ok. Anything over 50-53 is too hot. If the fan fixes the issue then it is ok.
