I have a high end pc, and in every single game I get bad stuttering.
I was getting it on my rtx 3090 and went to a 6900xt, still got it.
Got a new PSU ( Super Flower Leadex Platinum SE 1000W )
Upgraded my ryzen 5 3600 to a ryzen 9 5900x. Upgraded to a x570 taichi, 32gb of ram, a 2tb 980 pro, still happens. The only thing that has been constant throughout these upgrades is ryzen.
Do you think this could possibly be a ryzen issue? I am now wondering if I should go to intel and see if that fixes it, but I wanted opinions before I went through that nightmare.
Its the only thing I can think of at this point, it was happening on my old ryzen 5 3600 machine, everything on my current pc is new and its still happening. This didnt happen when I had a 2500k

I have watched temps in HWmonitor, theyre all fine. Ive set all cores to 3.6ghz on my cpu so theyre not all jumping around. Different ram. Putting settings on lowest they can go.

Is there a software that could turn off absolutely all processes and everything running except the game to make sure it's not a software issue? I'm running out of things to think of

OK I won't
Yes it happened on Windows 10

Is there a software to turn off everything in the background so I could maybe see if it's software? Like that razer game mode? I don't even know where to start with processes and whatnot. The pc is powerful enough that surely something running in the background shouldn't be doing this? Even rubbing the game on low and using 40 percent of my hardware will do it

any chance it is ryzen?

Should I cap my fps to 113 not 120?
When I get home I will turn off every single start program and see if it does it. It's worse in games that push the system like resident evil 8, call of duty

Yes and the ram is running at 3200
Should I fresh install windows and just install the game see if that eliminates it? Is there a more ruthless complete fresh install of windows or are both methods the same?
So no one thinks it's ryzen?

@gammatsunami What CPU cooler are you using? What case is your computer in? You can do something called a clean boot which disables all services except windows ones. This will essentially eliminate software as an issue. I would do a complete reinstall of AMD drivers with DDU. I would download HWinfo to monitor temps. 91c on the GPU can certainly cause stuttering depending on the components that are at 91c.

Maybe this is why? Is that just the hottest spot on the card? So the vram? What else can I do? Undervolt?
I am not sure if that hotspot is the GPU die or some other component. If its the GPU die maybe there was not enough paste applied to the GPU and heatsink. If it is the memory they may have forgotten a thermal pad on one or more of the memory chips. You can also add small heatsinks on the back of the backplate with thermal pads assuming the backplate is made out of metal for thermal transference.

The 3090 is known for hot memory and so is the 6900xt but it still seems peculiar that you had the same stuttering issue with both cards. There is probably something else going on in addition to the thermals being an issue, I'm just not sure what that would be. How many fans and in what positions are they in your p500a?

What exact model of 6900xt do you have? What model of 3090 did you have?

So I set the fans maxed out and it went from 100c to 60something c and was still happening.
Is it not possible its ryzen?
Could it be the lian li power cable extensions I use? Or my hdmi cable?
I am honestly considering selling this pc and just buying a prebuilt off the PC builder site I use.

The GPU usage drops hugely constantly. here a long clip so you can see how often its happening. Even if I limit my fps to 60 it still does it, it drops fps all the time

Edit I took the lian li cables out and plugged the gpu in directly ( 1 cable each 8pin ) still happening

There is nothing that points to it being an issue with the CPU. Try it without the power extensions, that's something easy to rule out as an issue. I can see that you are downloading something in steam while running a bunch of software for RGB and your AIO and stuff like that. Did you try doing a clean boot and playing a game like I said earlier in the thread?

I just did, same issue. I have disabled all services on boot except the very few I need to game and that didnt help.
If it were my monitor it wouldnt be showing up in videos would it?
