Question Baldurs Gate 3 cross platform play

My son suggested this game ,but I do not play much any more.
But a game we could play together again sparked my interest.
Is this a real possibility?
He has the new PS and I am on PC.
I have read a few articles stating it was in beta testing.
All thoughts and insights welcomed.
