Hi,
I am a budget gamer who spend most of the time on DOTA, i also am a full time JAVA programmer by profession
I am trying to create a desktop which will help me explore PC gaming outside the MOBA world to try some latest titles.
Also, on my professional side, i want to install and learn hadoop which i know runs on the cloud but my machine should be able to build a sandbox or virtual machine for it.
I have so far choosen the following components:
1.Samsung 750 EVO 120GB SSD Drive
2.MSi Radeon RX 460 2GB DDR5 OC Edition Display Port/HDMI/DL-DVI-D
3.G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 Mhz
4.MSI H110M Pro-VH Socket LGA 1151 Motherboard (Blue)
5.Intel Pentium G4400 Skylake Dual-Core 3.3GHz Desktop Processor

Could anyone suggest if i choose
A. i3 6100 with750ti
B. g4400 with 1050ti
Will be a better idea?

Note:Why this question?
First, i am a first time building a PC, for the past 10 years i have sticked to laptops. So i am a bit scared
Second, my choice + option A and B are of the same price here in india.

Personally with your budget I would go for an i3 7100, a refresh of the i3 6100. The Pentium is fine on DOTA and all mainstream non-demanding titles, but I would spend the extra for an i3 to handle all the background tasks.

I believe the ssd can be added later inexpensively, so a hdd will do just fine.

If you can spend just a bit more, I would go for the TI version of the 1050, but if you cant, the 1050 is still 10% faster than the RX460.

The rest of the build is just to squeeze the limited budget for the i3 and the GPU, without compromising on reliability.

hellow, a 1050 or the ti version is faster than a rx 460. so if u can afford a 1050ti that is great. but rx460 is capable of handling dota and latest title so its your personal choice to get the 1050 or the 460. when it comes to cpu i'd say that a g4400 was a good cpu for budget. but the g4400 dont have Hyper threading but the new G4560 is a beast with Hyper threading enabled and its the same cost of the old 4400. the 4560 is like a core i3 cpu. the G4560 is 28% faster than the g4400 and 10% slower than the new i3 7100. while the price difference is huge between the i3 and the pentium. 60$ for the pentium while the i3 is 120$ with only 10% performance jump. Id say get faster ram if u can. the more faster ram you have its gonna run better in games with the pentium and more future proof. your motherboard selection is perfectly fine and ur ssd is perfect for the budget build. Get a 1TB drive for saving other files and only install your system in the ssd. id say anything above 2133MHz ram is better. But if u can get like a 2666MHz or 3000Mhz is great and it will be overkill. 8Gb of ram is perfectly fine. you can check G4560 benchmarks in the Digital foundry youtube channel. they explained everything. hope this helps. Good luck

oh yes ur build is great since the new gen came the g4560 is bang for the buck. thats why iam suggesting the 4560. the pentium g4560 is 10% less performance than the new i3 7100 and its half the price of the i3. :) but how ever if he has the money to buy it then that's great.

You should get a good CPU before looking for a gpu because your cpu will start bottlenecking your gpu..

You should save some money and get an FX 6300 paired with a 1050Ti 4gb and actually that is what is I am using and with the monitor it came around 650 bucks

My monitor is a micromax 18.5" fhd monitor

But don't forget to change your mobo

No point going for FX series. Period.

that would be stupid if u buy a fx 6300. its 22% slower than g4560.
