ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard. Windows 7 SP1.
This recently started. PC ran for over a year with no problems.
When booting from a COLD start my speakers make a loud bang, regardless of the volume setting. It makes an even louder bang when Chrome opens and another bang when Windows closes.
If I do just a re-start, everything is fine.
I have updated all my drivers including the Nvidia drivers, VIA drivers and the Logitech Camera (Which has a microphone) driver.
I have unplugged and re-inserted all leads, re-seated the Graphics card, (The soundcard is part of the Motherboard.)
The sound is very much like that made by a TV Soundbar that is on when you switch off from the wall.
I have no idea what's causing it but there is a difference between a restart and a full shut and start.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
