Ok so im still new to overclocking and I need some help.

I recently got the gigabyte RX 580 and also found out i can still overclock gpu with non-overclock motherboard (H170). i changed the settings with msi afterburner as follow:

core voltage +24mV
powerlimit +40%
coreclock 1430 (+90 mhz)
memory clock 2100 (+ 100 mhz)

I then ran benchmarks with different games(all ultra) and got the following results:

witcher 2 - sc 48 oc 50
fallout 4 - no fps increase
witcher 3 - sc 67 oc 69
heaven benchmark - sc 68.8 oc 71.3

I was really dissappointed with these results as it was barely a 4% increase. i dont know if im doing something wrong and would like to know how i can safely improve my overclock if possible. I also struggle to get stable overclock at 1440mhz(scared i will damage gpu when increasing voltage too much). gpu temps are around 74 degrees with and without overclock under load. Any help or overclock setting suggestions would be appreciated :)

my specs are:

i5 6600
16gb ram
rx 580 8gb
h170 gaming m3
500w psu
2560*1080 LG ultrawide @ 75Hz

RX 580 is basically hitting overclocking wall, especially for top end model like Power Color Red Devil Golden or Sapphire Nitro+. That's because it's a super charged RX 480 already, there's very little performance gain and overclocking room for you, around 1500Mhz would be maximum.

how much of a voltage increase would still be considered safe?

With no voltage or power increase i got the core clock to around 1400mhz without most of my games crashing (my BF1 crashes on even the slightest oc. but it doesnt need the oc so its fine..)

Edit: i notice now i can get 1430 with 0 voltage offset, but thats because i increased power limit later on which i forgot about.

Yeah i had an idea that would be the case. I got it to 1450mhz with voltage +42 but it causes some games to crash after 10min or so. So i think i would be stopping at 1440 for now. Strange that everything was stable at 1430 even with +0 voltage offset but oh wel

You are not the only one, several reviewers on Red Devil Golden and Nitro+ point out the frustration on even overclocking 10mhz on those models, as they come at over 1400mhz clock. It's basically the maximum.
