.bat run to continue execution with next command

I have a .bat file which contains 'pause' command at the end. Hence after the execution, it shows 'Press any key to continue....' and on key press closes the cmd prompt. Is there a way, on pressing any key again to keep alive the cmd prompt and allows the user to work with cmd commands again.

I believe if you open a DOS command windows (cmd.exe) and execute the batch file from there, the command prompt window will remain open at the end of execution.
