Batarang speed

Hi,
Can anyone here give me some insight as to how to control the speed of the batarang?
Im stuck in the gladiator pit and in attempt to get out I know I have to remote control the batarang through the fenced on the right, facing the center part of the room.
However it just goes too fast and is hard to control.

Am i doing something wrong?

The remote controlled batarang's speed can be controlled. On the PC, you use the left and right mouse button to increase/ decrease the speed.

if you are using a xbox controller on the pc use the r and l shoulder triggers
