Hello,
My Batman Arkham City is not running properly.
The game stopped after the scene in which joker threw batman out of the wall(the scene after being the catwoman for the first time)
There was only a black screen that tells me to right click or the game stop working. So when I clicked there was only a small loading icon in the corner, AND NOTHINg happened !!
I reinstalled it several times but it always has the same problem.
(Sorry I didn't installed it through steam, just took the setup file from my friend , in which it ran perfectly )

No, it was the original.
I mount the game by daemon tools.
But the first part ran perfectly . So can it be a missing file problem.
I had the same amount of space as my friend had.

So, should I add the game to the steam.(like by adding non-steam games in the steam)? Will it run OK after adding it to the steam
Unfortunately the CD key of the game is lost, so what should I do!!???

Where did you get the game from? You wrote-

"Only the setup and 3 files "

I have the game (disc version -upgraded to Steam) and it for sure does not have 3 files in the setup....Did you copy only the setup from your friend? Because that is not counted as legal...:( Will it be possible for you to upload a snapshot of the game's setup directory via any image uploading site, say

http://tinypic.com/

If not, could you just post a list of the files you have in your setup directory?

Yes,here. :) I am sorry I can't just hand out my email ID like that.....By the way, what is the name of the setup file you have? Could you write that here (if you are not comfortable with a screenshot)...? And I must warn you, read this thread before posting-

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/105018-13-read-first

IF the game setup turns out to be pirated,no one on this forum will help you...But if you bought a genuine game and cannot activate it or are facing issues with it,then post here...I will be happy to help. :)
Hope this helps.:)

Chimera201 - Please don't call someone out like that. There is a time and place for that sort of thing and Tom's is not one of them.

Indian King - Would you please tell me where you currently reside? and where your friend had purchased his copy of Batman Arkham City?

Ok , I live in Delhi, India.
So my friend must've bought it from a retailer shop in Delhi.
I just wanted to mount it, (And lost the CD key after the 3rd time installation)
If no one is willing to help, Alright .
I have to do some other experiments by myself. :(
If I am doing some illegal things , then I will stop it. :(

Hi Indian King...You wrote-

"And lost the CD key after the 3rd time installation..."

Did you not activate it with an online GFWL account the first time you installed it? In that case,it would have been tied to your account...Anyway,worry not, just email WB Games (after providing adequate proof that you indeed bought the game) and wait for their response...Posting here, asking for a replacement key will not help...:)

There is a sticky too, about asking for replacement keys-

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/106384-13-keys

Be careful you don't violate it...All the best and hope I helped...:)

Well OP, this does look like you're using a copy of the game without prior payment of a licence in which case it is illegal to operate the game. At this point we can only advise you to purchase a copy for yourself.

In this case, your friend is the legal owner of the game and it maybe that it is tied to his system/account information.

chimera201 - Oh ok,I mailed WB Games when I had to upgrade my boxed version to the Steam version and my issue was resolved quickly...So,I thought it would help the OP better if they mailed WB Games directly...:)

You had to do that anyways because Windows Live is going down.

I bought the game on Steam. So I had absolutely no issues. Steam even stores the CD key for me. I only have to care about the security of my Steam account. I also got the GOTY edition for free.
