battery keeps showing 99% when unplugged

I purchased acer travelmate p2 like 7 months ago.Recently I noticed that the battery keeps showing 99% when not plugged in and no matter how long i keep using my laptop still stay stuck at 99 and shows 100% as i plug in charger and gets back to 99 as i plug charger out.Sometimes my laptop switched off all of sudden due to zero battery whereas it still showed 99.My battery life is still good I'm able to run laptop on normal usage from about 4 to 5 hours(tested after like 4 hours of charge).Please help me resolve this!

The battery could faulty as its not showing the right amount of charge or its could be a mainboard fault.

I would update the bios from the acer website
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/drivers

Enter your serial number then on the next page scroll down to bios and download the latest and run it, make your charger is plugged in

If this dosent work, its still under warranty then contact the retailer
