My only disappointment in the engine is that they're still using the FXAA+MSAA combination.

Wish they'd dropped FXAA and gave us a more efficient and higher quality aa mode like SMAA.

Their deferred MSAA implementation on the other hand does not work very well. It misses a lot of edges. not mention the huge performance hit as expected.

Nice read. Performance will only get better with time! At first I saw card performing awfully running this game, so things have change for the better in a matter of days.

Considering that BF4 is the first ever game to support AMD Mantle, it would be interesting to see how much lead do AMD cards have over nVidia when BF4 is played with Mantle enabled.

this game is not playable with 144hz monitor, getting smooth fps is impossible at good graphic settings, like i always say: if you wanna max out a game, buy the hardware 2 years later....

interesting that a lowly 2GB GTX 670 beats a 7950 and matches a 7970 3GB and that a 2 generation old 4 core I5 @ 3.4GHz beats the 8 core FX-8350 @ 4GHz and that Nvidia came out with updated drivers a day before AMD and that I can't use 7950 crossfire, despite the new drivers. From all the hype and 'exclusive' deals, anyone would think that this game was going to be optimized for AMD. Just shows you can't believe anything they say. Whilst Intel and Nvidia sit quietly in the background, clocking up the best FPS. Why did I sell my GTX680?

Page 8, chart 3, The title is wrong, little copy paste error. Any particular reason no 780 was used? I guess it falls between the 770 and the Titan so no biggie there.

I have some problem with Phenom II 1075t, 16GB 1666 and HD 6950. Generally good fps but sometimes very low fps, all si freezed...

What i have to do? Change CPU (with motherboard) or GPU?

Now what about the ram? The game runs very very badly even on low settings for me, I believe it is because i only have 4gb. Would be nice if someone were to test this...

It would have been interesting to see how the performance stacked up for "High" detail settings at 2560x1440, there was quite a large hit going to "Ultra" and I think it could be quite playable at 2560x1440 on lower end cards (I'd rather play at 2560x1440 on High than drop the screen resolution and play at Ultra). Also there isn't as much need to high levels of AA when using such a high resolution display in the first place.

still can't use crossfire without having a DirectX or low memory crash (with 4GB spare), but one good bit of news is that with tonight's update, my CPU usage at 3.4GHz has dropped to 95% and at 4.5GHz dropped to 60-70%, so progress is being made slowly. I'm amazing they never thought of testing it before releasing the Beta!

I'm using dual SLI GTX 770s and an I7-4930k OC'ed 4.7 GhZ, but I still don't know if I would be able to run it in very high settings over 3 monitors.

You do know what a "Beta" is for, right?

I'd guess that was done to show frequency scaling on four cores, and to compare it to the slower hexacore with the same architecture.

The 4300 or the 6300 might not have been tested because Don didn't have them on hand.

Unless you're looking for conspiracy...

True, but even Don notes that the Titan had become a bottleneck beyond the overclocked i5 and the i7.

Because there's nothing much to talk about, probably. I'm sure they will when the game is launched.

@slomo4sho: Mantle should work with all GCN cards.

lol funny...
