Hi!
I have the following setup:
i7-4771
16Gb RAM
2xSSD and 2xHDDs
Asus H87Pro
Dell U2412
be quiet Straight Power 10 CM 500W
5x fans (3x12cm + 2x14cm)
+HDTV
+later I plan a second monitor, so three displays will be used

I plan to buy a new video card. I've not yet decided between GTX960 or 970, but if I'd buy the 970: is my PSU strong enough? I'd use this card for a very long time, so later I'd overclock it also. Will it be safe with this PSU?

Solution
yes the psu should be stron enough at 500w. typically a gtx 970 system will top out at 350w-375w depending on cpu and hdd count.
so any decent 500w unit would be enough.
