[SOLVED] Been sitting on parts waiting for a 3080...

Hello,

I've purchased everything I need for my new build in August. I've been waiting for a 3080 (EVGA) to become available so I can finish the build. I've been on EVGA's auto notify since early September and still haven't got an email yet. I contacted EVGA and they said they get 1000's in a week and have been sending them out everyday.... wtf???

I don't know what to do, I'm kinda bored of waiting. My current PC is fine... I just want the new build.

Any suggestions... should I continue and wait for a 3080 or choose something else? If it's going to be MONTHS tho... i dunno.

Details in a news article today from NVIDIA themselves are saying that stock normalcy cannot return before April at this point. It will be luck of the draw or paying inflated prices to scalpers. Even older cards are going out of stock. A very familiar situation, again. Sigh

They also changed their prices (higher) if you don't get your card by April 14 or 16th I forget you pay the higher price so their no incentive for them to sell anymore cards till then so they can make more money.

Just seen on their site they raised all prices by about 50 bucks. If you were already in Q to get a card and can get one by I believe it said 4/16 you get the original price. Yes April 16th. https://www.evga.com/products/productlist.aspx?type=0

I pre ordered a 3070 back in October and finally received it the end of December. Around the same time I pre ordered I used the evga notify me and they emailed me about a week ago with a order slot. I did waste £400 on a 2060s whilst I was waiting!

The more popular cards are going to have a longer queue. Nothing you can do about that.
I signed up last week for a 3080 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid - I doubt I have to wait as long as folks who wanted XC3s or non-Ultra cards.
