Before installing the gpu

Im a new builder and just finished my new build, but whenever i have my gpu connected to the motherboard my monitor gets no signal, but if i dont have the gpu connected then my monitor does show everything. Is there something i have to do within the bios settings?

yes there is a bios setting to select pci slot as main graphics, try googling for how to change that setting

When you have the video card connected, do you move the video cable to the video card from the motherboard video port?

yes you plug your monitor into the graphics card
