Hello. I'm hoping someone can tell me how much of a benefit there would be in upgrading my motherboard from a B350 to a X470. Is there a way to quantify it/is it worth it in my case? From what I understand I would gain 200hz with Precision Boost. Is this correct? Would this make a huge difference for me, given my current GPU and 75hz monitor, playing CPU intensive games? And I probably need a new PSU, yes?

I recently upgraded to a Ryzen 5 2600x from a 5 2400g. I am planning on building an office PC for a friend in the next months and will possibly have the opportunity to upgrade some of my own parts. X470s are expensive in Germany though and I want to be sure it is worth it.

I hope to upgrade the GPU later in the year, not before September. I'm very happy with the 5 2600x but can't shake the feeling that it could be even better. Tell me if I'm crazy. All comments appreciated and welcome.

Specs:
Ryzen 5 2600x
Sapphire Radeon Pulse RX 580 8GB
B350 MSI Tomahawk
16 gig 3200hz Vengeance RAM
Corsair - CXM 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular
Noctua - NH-U12S SE-AM4 CPU Cooler
75Hz Monitor

X470 boards have better components for overclocking, such as the VRMs.
Unless you are intending on doing some serious overclocking i would suggest you get a B450 Board. (I would avoid the B350/ X370 boards as for the most part they need BIOS updates to run the APUs and you need a first gen Ryzen chip to do it)
