QHD is only about 30% more resolution along each axis. I would be perfectly fine with that on a 24" screen. For things like browsers, PDFs, Word, etc., I can always change the zoom to whatever feels more comfortable whenever necessary. Worst case, I always have the option of dumping an application that gets unusably small on one of my other displays.

I wish it were that easy. Many games don't scale their interfaces all that well. 105-110dpi is about maximum for most people, average people do better at 90dpi at typical monitor range. Going higher to this 128dpi makes it difficult to read text in games like Star Trek Online and World of Warcraft, unless you have eagle eyes. I know from experience STO and WoW also don't scale their text boxes all that well. STO is horrible at it.

Sure, the graphics look better, but if you can't read the text, what's the point?
